Nottingham Malaysian Games

2011 Nottingham Malaysian Games


The annual NMG is just around thecorner and we want you to represent the LSE Malaysian Club in your respective sports, be it physical or cognitive! Even if you do not feel like competing inany games, the Malaysian Food Festival is going to be held in conjunction withthe games, so come along anyway for some nasilemak or laksa savoring! Not tomention this will also be a great opportunity to meet new Malaysians.


Details:

Date:12th November 2011

Time: 7.30am to 7.00pm

Venue: University of Nottingham

There is a smorgasbord of sports available, feel free to contact us at [email protected] you are interested in playing.


Conventional Sports:

-5 a-side Football

-Netball

-Mixed Volleyball

-Men’s Basketball

-Badminton

-Squash

-Table Tennis


Indoor Sports:

-Lightning Chess

-Scrabble

-Lightning Snooker


Traditional Sports:

1. Congkak

2. Batu Seremban

3. Dam Haji/ Checkers

4. Carrom


However, for certain sports the LSESU MalaysiaClub is holding sport’s try-outs on the 16th of October 2011 in selecting the squad that would be representing LSE for NMG as well as invitational sports tournaments all across UK.

The following sports try-outs are shown below.


Football 

Co-captains: David Tan and Azril Ikram

Venue: Warren Street Football Pitch, Euston

Date: 16th of October (Sunday)

Time: 15.00 – 17.00

Description: All the players require to be in football kit especially court shoes and keeper will need to bring your own pair of gloves

 

Netball

Co-captains: Natalie Tan and Shareen Kaur

Description: A try-out was held today. Should there be anyone else interested in joining the squad, send your email to Natalie and Shareen at [email protected] and [email protected] respectively. Another session would be held if there’s sufficient demand for it.

 

Basketball

Co-captains: Tse Wei and Wei Jun

Venue: LSE Old Gym (basement of the Old Building)

Date: 16th of October (Sunday)

Time: 11.00 – 13.00

Description: All players are required to wear proper sports attire. Basketballs will be provided.

 

Badminton  

Co-captains: Kausal Inna and Wei Jie

Venue: LSE Old Building Badminton Court (Located in the basement)

Date: 16th of October (Sunday)

Time: 14.00 – 16.00

Description: Those trying out should bring along, if possible,their own rackets. Sports attire, badminton/ running shoes & acompetitive spirit are also advisable!

 

Squash

Co-captains: Adrian Ho and Wern Sheng

Venue: Hughs Parry Hall, Cartwright Gardens 

Date: 16th of October (Sunday)

Time: 13.00 – 16.00

Description: Bring your racquets and squash shoes
